Passionate about visual arts since childhood, Raphaëlle Léaux was trained in drawing and sculpture from the age of 12 both in private workshops and academies in Brussels. At 16, she joined the art school Saint-Luc where she graduated with a degree in Art de l’image. After training in fashion design and sociology, she worked as a stylist, librarian, art model and artistic animator, while training herself in parallel with lost wax jewellery from 2010. In March 2017, she met the visual artist and photographer Tekahem who introduced her to photography during a trip across Europe.

“I do not consider disciplines like jewellery, drawing, sculpture, photography or fashion design as separate disciplines. The disciplines that compose visual arts are intertwined with each other, mutually nourishing each other. Thus the formal research done for the creation of minimalist sculptures serve my aesthetic research in jewellery and vice versa. The drawing sometimes made for the simple pleasure of the line can also be a starting point in the creative process leading to a jewel. Photography, far from being a simple support for the enhancement of jewelleries or sculptures, is a creative medium in its own right that has its own value. “
